Dear Woodward Career Technical High School Families,
The New Year means saying good bye to things of old and saying hello to new opportunities. This moment marks the season for our students to start afresh and to finish strong. Therefore, I want to remind you of the goals and direction of our school.
Our 7th and 8th grade students are focusing on preparing for the spring Ohio Achievement Assessment. As you know, our 8th graders are taking Algebra I and physical science. They have an opportunity to earn high school credit with the successful completion of these courses.
The 9th graders are working hard to earn at least 5 credits so they may be promoted to the 10th grade and stay on track for graduation.
Tutoring during the school day has started for our 10th grade students. They will take the Ohio Graduation Test during the week of March 10, 2014. We appreciate your support in encouraging your child to take advantage of the free tutoring during and after school.
Juniors will take the ACT on April 23, 2014. We are working to be sure they are prepared to do their best as we want to increase the number of students who are successful on the ACT and are appreciative of our District for providing this free opportunity to our students.
The members of the Class of 2014 (seniors) will graduate on Sunday, May 25, 2014 at 8:00 in the Cintas Center. Senior families will receive a letter concerning your child’s graduation status (credits, OGT, fees) this month. Our seniors will present their Capstone Projects during the Senior Showcase in April. All families are invited to join us.
If you have any questions or would like to volunteer as we work towards developing college and career ready students, I invite you to contact me at the above listed number.
